Lombok Island

Lombok's Island

In a last of 2012, i came to this island. Although this wasn't my first visit, i was always amazed to this island.

Lombok is an island in West Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Barat or NTB) province, Indonesia. It forms part of the chain of theLesser Sunda Islands, with the Lombok Strait separating it from Bali to the west and the Alas Strait between it and Sumbawa to the east. It is roughly circular, with a "tail" (Sekotong Peninsula) to the southwest, about 70 km across and a total area of about 4,725 km² (1,825 sq mi). The provincial capital and largest city on the island is Mataram. It is somewhat similar in size and density with neighboring Bali and shares some cultural heritage, but is administratively part of NTB along with sparsely populated Sumbawa. It is surrounded by a number of smaller islands locally called Gili.

I visited several places in this woderfull island,
1. Senggigi Beach
Senggigi is Lombok's oldest and most famous resort area.
A perfect place to relax, Senggigi boasts a series of white sandy beaches and safe swimming areas. The point at central Senggigi has good waves for surfers. This place has a colourful reef which provides shelter to a variety of marine life and exquisitely shapped coral and makes it a perfect place to snorkle.

There are a few ladies selling sate - chicken, beef, or intestines.  They all serve the same thing and you can order and sit it the dining huts.  Price is about Rp 15000 per portion and comes with the bulayak or lontong - steamed rice roll wrapped in palm leave. In this area, there are also vendors selling dodol- fruit candy wrapped in bright colored paper.

4. Suranadi swimming pool

One of my favorite place, a natural swimming pool. A cold water in a midlle of the city will be a great place to run away from the busy activity of course :). To reach this place, we will treat by woderfull a hundred miles of forest view. Fresh weather also become a one of great point for this place.
